Our story
Teamotea began with a simple frustration — the distance between the people who drink tea and the farms that grow it. Between the two sit layers of traders, each adding a margin and losing a little of the story. We set out to remove that distance: to buy at origin, to know the grower, and to pass both the quality and the trust on to our partners.
From that beginning we grew into a full development partner for tea businesses. Today we produce private-label tea in China under our partners’ own marks, supply more than 500 single-origin Chinese teas and over 100 herbal and flower blends wholesale, and source made-to-order leaf from the best private farms of China and Taiwan. For partners who want more than supply, we design the whole business — brand, packaging, route to market — and develop franchise models that turn a single brand into a network.
Our philosophy
We believe a tea business is only as good as the leaf beneath it, and that the leaf is only as trustworthy as the relationship behind it. So we keep those relationships direct. We visit the gardens, we meet the growers, and we buy from the bush — skipping the long chain of intermediaries that obscures both price and provenance. Chinese tea, sourced honestly, is what we sell — never blends dressed up as something they are not.
