This legendary tea is twice-smoked with large pine logs inside an authentic wooden smoking hut used for generations by the same family. Created using techniques which represent the heritage of a small village in the protected depths of Tongmuguan, this smoked black tea is a result of an enduring craft that stretches back centuries.

CLASSICAL SMOKY BOHEA SEASON
Smoked teas, from the highlands of northern Fujian in China, are loved for their sweet and smoky balance. The refreshing spring that blesses the high elevation agricultural spaces is always gentle, brisk, and perfectly protected, among the clouds, from the hot sun.
The massive hills surrounding the local production valley are real-life interpretations of what we dream of as a storybook mountainous tea environment. Sharp cliffs rise up to the sky and are followed back down by long ribbons of crystal clear waterfalls that tumble through the low-lying clouds to cool and clean the earth.
All of this translates to slow and steady growth through spring before a three week late April and early May harvest, during which the year's crop becomes the newest version of a Wuyi legend.

Each of our teas are either purchased one time annually or one time seasonally. For each purchase we repack the entire lot into proprietary and exclusively labelled packaging in order to properly calculate and select a randomized sampling that, with proven statistical confidence, represents the entire lot of tea. We then mail those samples to laboratories around the world in order to keep a close eye on the health and safety of everything we offer to our customers.

The packaging design for our Signature teas has been carefully considered from the ground up and no element has been procured as an off the shelf item from our partners around the world. All materials and shapes have been customized from personal creations to most appropriately suit our packaging needs.
